Terms and Conditions
By contracting my services you agree to the following conditions:
General Conditions

  1. As every project and client is unique, some of the terms, notably fees, deadlines, and payment method and schedule shall be determined individually with each client and expressed in the form of an oral agreement or a formal written contract.
  2. Any terms and conditions agreed directly with the client shall prevail over the terms and conditions presented below.

Translation and Copywriting

  1. All translation and/or copywriting work is completed by myself; and I do not delegate any project or any part of it to third persons without prior express agreement of the client.
  2. I do not use automated translation solutions (such as translation by artificial intelligence) except when previously agreed with the client.
  3. I may use computer-assisted translation tools (CAT-tools) when I deem necessary without seeking the client's agreement. In the event I use CAT-tools, I do not provide translation memories as part of the translation project.
  4. I do not provide glossaries that I have constituted in the course of work on the project.
  5. Any translation or text I produce for the client is an original work respectful of the copyright of others.
  6. For translations, I accept one round of comments provided that the comments are specific, justified, and clearly formulated.
  7. For written copies, I accept two rounds of comments provided that the comments are specific, justified, and clearly formulated.

Interpreting

  1. For most interpreting projects, I bill on a full-day (up to 8 hours) or a half-day (up to 4 hours) basis. This allows to cover for the preparation for the mission and short travel time to reach the site (if any, within 2 hours of travel one way).
  2. If an interpreting mission requires long-distance travelling, travel, accommodation fees, and per diem are discussed individually with the client.
  3. Exceptionally, for some projects I practice hourly fees. In this case, I require a minimum order of 2 hours to cover for the preparation for the mission.
  4. When providing simultaneous interpretation, I require a booth partner for any order exceeding 1 hour of duration. I am both willing to work with the client's existing interpreter and/or with a trusted colleague or colleagues I usually work with.
  5. If the event at which I am asked to interpret is recorded, the client shall inform the interpreter (me) of the type and purpose of such recording. If the recording is used in commercial purposes, I retain the right to adjust my fees accordingly.

Confidential Information

  1. As a translator, interpreter, and copywriter, I often work with confidential information provided by the client. I do not disclose such information to third persons and take necessary precautions to protect such information when working with it and storing it on my computer and/or on physical supports.
  2. At the client's request, I delete any confidential/ sensitive information when it is no more required for completing the project.
  3. I am willing to sign an NDA if the client requires so.
